When you interact with certain features (e.g., submitting a letter), you may choose to provide additional information that we retain as part of your experience.

Data is stored securely on 3rd part software as a live data service, meaning that no data is cached or stored in the infrastructure unless explicitly required.


b. Security:

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard your data, including encryption and restricted access protocols. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


c. Data Retention:

At Offload, we are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining a safe space for your stories. Here’s how we handle your data:

  • Automatic Deletion: Unless you request otherwise, all content posted in Offload Open Letters or other public areas will be automatically removed after 30 days to ensure privacy and minimize stored data.

  • Option to Retain Data: If you would like your content to remain accessible on Offload Open Letters, you can give us permission to keep it for longer. We will check in with you again after two months to confirm if you'd like to retain it further.

  • Maximum Retention Period: We will not retain any user content longer than 12 months, even if permission is granted, unless explicitly required by law.


6. Data Transfers

If your data is processed outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your information.

Under UK GDPR, you have rights concerning your data:

2. User Responsibilities

By using Offload, you agree to:

   - Provide accurate information when signing up.

   - Keep your account information secure.

   - Refrain from engaging in prohibited activities, including posting harmful, illegal, or abusive content. This is not allowed. And you will be removed with no refund. 


3. User-Generated Content

When you submit content (e.g., ‘Open Letter’ submissions), you retain ownership of that content. However, by posting, you grant Offload a limited license to display, use, and manage the content as part of our platform functions. Offload reserves the right to moderate or remove content that violates these terms.


4. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property on Offload, including trademarks, logos, and proprietary functions, is owned by us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our IP without written permission.


5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Offload is provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your expectations. Use of Offload is at your own risk.


6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Offload shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.


7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Offload at our sole discretion, particularly if you violate these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be resolved in UK courts.
